The definitions in this dictionary are typically 1-3 sentences long. It isn't going to provide you with cooking instructions or in-depth information, but - with over 4,000 entries - it is great for deciphering obscure terms.

The definitions appear to be taken from The Food Lover's Companion, 2nd edition, by Sharon Tyler Herbst.
