Brewing Beer In A Coffee Maker

The fine folks over at Southern Fried Science have made a great contribution to the future of the human race with their post on How to brew beer in a coffee maker, using only materials commonly found on a modestly sized oceanographic research vessel.

Interestingly, the oceanographic research vessel is not required for this hack. In fact, all of the materials mentioned are, I suspect, more likely to be found off of a modestly sized oceanographic research vessel than they are to be found on one. The upshot of this is that you could probably walk into your kitchen and begin brewing some beer in your coffee maker right now. If you do this, please let me know how it turns out. Apparently the beer produced is not necessarily bad.
